Copyrights and Terms of Use Many of the backgrounds in our archive came from Public Domain image collections, which means that you can use them without any restrictions. They are clearly labeled as "public domain" on their individual pages. All other images are copyrighted and have been used with the permission of their owners. If the images are copyrighted, you'll see a credit line with a link to the owner's email or website address and terms of use. Please follow the terms of use when you use these images. If you find any images that should not be in the Public Domain, please let us know. You can email us at webmaster@smartwebcenter.com. We will either remove the images from our collection or we will give you credit and display your terms of use. Don't Directly Link To Our Site Please do not link directly to our background images. Directly linking to images is called bandwidth theft on the internet and is very bad netiquette. We monitor our website for bandwidth theft and block repeat offenders from using our resources.
Another reason for not directly linking is that we move our images around, change their names and sometimes remove them from our collections. If you directly link to an image and we change its name or location, you'll lose that link and the image won't appear on your website. So, always download the image to your own computer and use a copy of it for your own website. How to Download a Background Image Just right click on the thumbnail of the background image you want to download and select "Save Picture As...". Images Submissions If you have backgrounds that you would like us to consider for addition to our collection, please email the webmaster@smartwebcenter.com for submission information. Our background display pages are designed to show 24 backgrounds on a single page. If you submit 24 backgrounds that are accepted for inclusion, we'll give you a page of your own with full credit to you, a link to your site or email address and your terms of use.
